Champps Americana, often just called Champps, is a fun place to eat and watch sports! It's a type of restaurant known as a "casual dining" spot. This means it's a relaxed and comfortable place to enjoy a meal. Champps is also a "sports bar." This means it has big screens where you can watch exciting games while you enjoy your food. There are currently 6 Champps locations across the United States.
The Story of Champps
Champps started a long time ago in 1984. The very first restaurant opened in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It was first called Concourse 7.
Soon after opening, the restaurant changed its name to "Champps." It also changed its style to become a sports bar. They started selling tasty burgers, sandwiches, and other American foods. They also added large televisions. This allowed customers to watch their favorite sports games while they ate.
Champps is part of a bigger company called Fox & Hound Restaurant Group. This company bought Champps Entertainment in 2007.
Sometimes businesses face tough times. Champps had to file for bankruptcy in 2013 and again in 2016. This means they needed help to manage their money. But even after these challenges, Champps kept going! As of early 2024, there are still 6 Champps locations open. You can find them in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, New York, Mississippi, and Arizona.
