Grevillea crassifolia is a type of shrub that belongs to the Grevillea plant family. It naturally grows in a specific area along the south coast of Western Australia, in a region called the Great Southern.
About Grevillea Crassifolia
This plant is an open shrub, meaning its branches spread out. It usually grows to be about 0.3 to 1 meter (1 to 3 feet) tall. Its branches are not covered in a waxy, whitish layer.
Leaves and Flowers
The leaves of Grevillea crassifolia are simple and flat. They are shaped like an ellipse, which is like a flattened circle. Each leaf is about 8 to 35 millimeters (0.3 to 1.4 inches) long and 4 to 7 millimeters (0.16 to 0.28 inches) wide.
The plant produces bright red flowers. These flowers grow in a cluster called a raceme, which means they are arranged along a central stem. You can usually see these beautiful red flowers between June and December.
Fruit
After the flowers, the plant grows a simple, hairy fruit. This fruit is shaped like an ovoid, which is similar to an egg shape. It is about 13 millimeters (0.5 inches) long.
