Description: A map of the distribution of the Celtic languages The original version of this map completely underrepresented Irish compared to the rest of the Celtic languages. As pointed out by user Craicabu on the Talk Page, it only showed the official Gaeltacht regions but Irish is spoken all around Ireland as a second language and is the first official language of the Irish State. 41% of the population said they spoke Irish in the 2011 Census of Ireland and 10% in the Northern Ireland Census said they had some ability. The original author did not respond in the talk page so I took it upon myself to update the map. In this newer version, all of Ireland has been hatched green to reflect the status of Irish compared to the other Celtic languages. Legend:   Irish   Scottish   Manx   Welsh   Cornish   Breton
