Description: Miniscule parchment containing the beginning of Phaedrus in Codex Clarkianus 39 in the en:Bodleian Library. The minuscule was written for Arethas of Patras (later of Caesarea), one of the most important figures in the history of Byzantine books. It was bought by Dr. E.D. Clarke in 1802 from the monastery of St. John on Patmos. Greek text (first lines): Ὦ φίλε Φαῖδρε. ποῖ δὴ καὶ πόθεν: παρά Λυσίου ὦ Σώκρατες, τοῦ Κεφάλου∙ πορεύομαι δὲ πρὸς περίπατον ἔξω τείχους∙ συχνὸν γὰρ ἐκεῖ διέτριψα χρόνον, καθήμενος ἐξ ἐωθινοῦ∙ τῶι δὲ σῶι καὶ ἐμῶι ἐταίρωι πειθόμενος, Ἀκουμένωι, κατὰ τὰς ὁδοὺς ποιοῦμαι τοὺς περιπάτους∙ φησὶ γὰρ ἀκοπωτέρους εἶναι τῶν ἐν τοῖς δρόμοις: καλῶς γὰρ ὦ ἐταῖρε λέγει. ἀτὰρ Λυσίας ἦν ὡς ἔοικεν ἐν ἄστει: ναί, παρ᾽ Ἐπικράτει. ἐν τῆιδε τῆι πλησίον τοῦ ὀλυμπίου οἰκίαι τῆι Μορυχίαι:
