Description: Franklin House was a three-story Hotel in San Diego, California. The Franklin House was built by adding a third story to the Exchange Hotel (also called Tebbett’s Place) built in 1851. The Franklin House owned by Messers Franklin was lost in a April 1872 fire. Joseph Mannasse also owned the Franklin House for some time. The Exchange Hotel was built by George Parrish Tebbetts and Philip Hooff.
