Description: One of the many stamps issued and reprinted between 1947-1953, to commemorate the unification of Dodecanese with Greece. It depicts an "unofficial" stamp issued in 1912 by a revolutionary Greek Commission called "ΚΟΙΝΟΝ ΝΗΣΙΩΤΩΝ" (Islands Common), featuring the head of Apollo Helius, originally from an ancient Dodecanesian coin.
