Description: A pair of 19th century large candlesticks in "Iznik style" with tulip blossoms, painted in cobalt blue, red (bole), turquoise and black under the glaze, signed in black rooster maker's mark CANTAGALLI under the base. Ulisse (d. 1901) and Guiseppe Cantagalli had a workshop in Florence. They produced Iznik style pottery after 1878. They put a rooster trademark inside foot rim. See: Denny, Walter B.
