Description: Oxnam Parish Church An unspoilt example of a rural early Georgian church on the site of a much earlier building dating back to the mid 12th century. A bell inscribed "Oxnam" is said to hang in Durham Cathedral, having been removed in 1545 by the army of Henry VIII. The church was completely rebuilt in 1738, with additions in 1879 and internal renovations in 1954. There is a small belfry and weathervane on the west gable, with an outside bell chain. In the churchyard there are several tablestones and symbolic stones in good condition. (Source: The Churches and Graveyards of Roxburghshire by G.A.C. Binnie).
