Description: Salt marsh on the bank of the River Tamar Just past the third gate north Coombe Lane crosses a marshy area almost at mean high water level. There is no concession to flood water levels or extra high tides so this road can become impassable at times. The tidal river bank is part of the Tamar Estuary Nature Reserve. The county boundary between Cornwall and Devon follows the centre of the river and the hills opposite are in Devon. Clamoak Quay can be seen on the right and a disused mine to the left. Note the pylons carrying the power lines across the water. All are in SX4364.
