Description: A statue of a Sumerian female worshiper. Alabaster. From Khafajah (ancient Tutub), Mesopotamia, Iraq. The head (excavation number: Kh. IV 288) was excavated by the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago (4th season) in the 1930s. The head most probably does not belong to the torso. Early Dynastic III, 2400 BCE. Previously in the Iraqi Museum in Baghdad, now in the Sulaymaniyah Museum, Iraq.
