Description: The Horsefeathers Market opened in 2013 in the five-story, Italian Renaissance-style building historically known as the Zink Block, built in 1896 for William T. Zink's furniture sales and repair store to a design by Charles Day Swan, an architect native to the West Side. After the business closed in 1932, it was used variously as a grocery store, warehouse, and (most recently) as the home of Horsefeathers Antiques, which moved to Grant-Amherst in 2008. A neighborhood landmark that's still remarkably true to its original design, the Horsefeathers Market has been renovated top-to-bottom into an energy-efficient "green" building housing specialty shops and restaurants on the ground floor and apartments on the upper floors.
