A Look at Summit Diner's History
There has been a Summit Diner at this spot since 1929. The diner building that stands there now was built in 1938. It is one of the oldest diners still around in New Jersey. The company that built it, Jerry O'Mahony Diner Company, made it in Elizabeth. Then, they moved the whole building to its current home in Summit.
Who Owns the Diner?
The Greberis family bought the diner in 1964. Jim Greberis started working there in 1980. He later bought the diner from his father-in-law in 1985. Jim Greberis is still the owner today. The main cooks are Vasilio Mazradis and Jimmy Michaelos. Jimmy Michaelos is known for making a special spinach pie.

The Summit Diner does not use paper menus. Instead, they have a large board above the kitchen. This board lists all the food items you can order. It's a classic diner style!
