What is Washington Column?
Washington Column is a massive piece of rock that looks like a tall, strong pillar. It's made of a type of rock called granite, which is very hard and strong. This rock formation was shaped over millions of years by natural forces like ice and water.
Where is it located?
You can find Washington Column in the eastern part of Yosemite Valley. It's located right behind the famous Ahwahnee Hotel. If you look closely, you'll see it east of the Royal Arches, which are also cool rock formations. Above Washington Column, you can spot another large rock called North Dome.
