Aaron Williams (born April 23, 1990) is a former American football player. He played as a safety in the National Football League (NFL). Aaron played college football for the Texas Longhorns. The Buffalo Bills picked him in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft.

Early Life and High School
Aaron Williams grew up in Austin, Texas. He went to McNeil High School. During high school, he was considered one of the best young safeties in the country. Experts like Rivals.com and Scout.com ranked him very highly.
In 2008, he was named to the Parade All-American team. He also played in the 2008 U.S. Army All-American Bowl game. This game features some of the best high school football players. Besides football, Aaron also played baseball and ran track & field. When it was time for college, he chose the University of Texas.
College Football Career

Freshman Year (2008)
As a freshman, Aaron played in 13 games. He started one game as a cornerback. He made 13 tackles and caught one interception. He even ran that interception back 81 yards for a touchdown!
Sophomore Year (2009)
In his second year, Aaron played in 13 games. He missed one game because of an injury. He had 31 tackles, two sacks, and three interceptions.
Junior Year (2010)
During his junior year, Aaron started 11 games. He missed two games due to another injury. He made 45 tackles, one sack, and caused two fumbles.
Professional Football Career
The Buffalo Bills chose Aaron Williams in the 2011 NFL Draft. He was the 34th player picked overall.
Playing for the Buffalo Bills
Aaron started his NFL career as a cornerback. After two seasons, the Bills moved him to play safety for the 2013 season.
In March 2014, Aaron signed a new contract with the Bills. It was a four-year deal worth $26 million.
Injuries and Retirement
In 2015, Aaron had a neck injury during a game. He had to leave the field in an ambulance. He worked hard to recover and came back to play.
In 2016, Aaron scored his first NFL touchdown! He ran back a blocked field goal attempt for a score. Later that season, he suffered another serious neck injury. This injury ended his 2016 season early.
The Buffalo Bills released Aaron Williams in March 2017. On January 31, 2018, Aaron announced he was retiring from the NFL. He played six seasons, all with the Buffalo Bills. He decided to retire because of the many head and neck injuries he had during his career. Other teams were worried about his health, which made it hard for him to sign with them.
