Description: The Victorian-style building located at 15 Logan Circle NW (also known as 1500 13th Street NW) in the Logan Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C., was constructed in 1877 for Seth Ledyard Phelps and designed by architect Thomas M. Plowman. The Phelps House was sold to the Korean Legation in 1891 but after Japan took power in Korea in 1905, the building no longer served as a legation. The Japanese government sold it in 1910. The building served as a private residence and later a Teamsters hall until being purchased by the Jenkins family in 1977. Timothy Jenkins sold it to the South Korean government in 2012. After undergoing a multi-million dollar restoration, the building reopened in 2018 as the Old Korean Legation Museum. The building is a contributing property to the Logan Circle Historic District and Greater Fourteenth Street Historic District.
