Description: 01102020 Took a drive up then walked around Bear lake in RMNP today, I have not been there for years since in the summer its so packed with people, but here in the winter you get it mostly alone and even though the water is frozen and covered in snow it is a beautiful place. I grew up in Estes and RMNP was a second home to me and I know most of its nooks and cranny's and it is another spot of home and I always feel wonderful when I am here. . At 10000 feet the winters are long but it is full of beauty and it was a great time to visit even if the thermometer was reading just 12 above 0 there was no wind and the walk was nice. My dad and I would drive up here many a winter night and hardly ever see a soul except for a few animals and the game of porcupine tag ( lol thats a silly story that I wont go into.)
