Description: The Italianate building located at 712 Jackson Place on Lafayette Square in Washington, D.C., was built in 1869 for Rear Admiral James Blair, but was soon sold to Major General Henry Rathbone. Other past occupants include the Committee for Public Information, the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, the National Candy Wholesalers, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The building is a contributing property to the Lafayette Square Historic District. It houses offices for the White House Fellows and the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation.
