Description: Historic 76 Mature Olive Trees - Lassen Street Olive Trees — mature Olive Trees (Olea europaea) in street tree planting in Chatsworth, northwestern San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California. The trees were planted in 1890, and are believed to have been grown out of cuttings taken from ~80 year old olive trees at the Mission San Fernando Rey de España ruins across the Valley. 49 survivors (of 76 in 1967) are listed Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #49, and located along Lassen Street, between Topanga Canyon Boulevard (on east) and Farralone Avenue (on west) in Chatsworth.
