Description: An abandoned en:farmhouse hidden in the trees and greenery that has overtaken it. There was also at least one barn in this hidden property that was back a long driveway from the road. Though I am not a historian, this house is a similar vernacular to other houses that date from the 1820s to the 1850s in the area. The farmstead is long abandoned but the fields around it are very much active, exemplary of the effects of en:intensive farming leading to rural decay; the town that it is in saw a population loss of nearly 70% between 1870 and 1880.
