Description: The Ridiyagama Safari Park is located in Ambalanthota, situated in the deep south of Sri Lanka 230km away from the commercial capital Colombo. The park brings abundance of foreign wildlife to the nature lovers living in Sri Lanka giving the animals as well as the people, a 100% natural wild experience. A signature highlight of this particular park is the elephant zone where the one and only resident African forest elephant 'Joa', and what is even more special is simply out of the world. That is the immense bond between this particular African elephant and the resident Asian elephants. The African elephant is biologically a complete different species of animal even though both share the same generic name 'elephant'. It is typical in any other park that animals herd around just with their particular species but that does not relate to Ridiyagama where inseparable bonds have been created among different species. This picture shows 'Joa' the African elephant playing around with the Sri Lankan Asian elephants 'Ramya' and baby 'Dinudha'. Picture taken using NikonD5500 and edited using Adobe Photoshop.
