Description: Armorials of Ayshford family of Ayshford Manor, Burlescombe Parish, Devon. Based on design shown on memorial in Ayshford Chapel to John Ayshford (d.1689). The charges are variously blazoned as "pineapples", "pines pendant" and "ashen keys". Pineapples unlikely, ashen keys seems optimal description as canting reference: Argent, on a chevron couple closed sable 3 ashen keys vert, or Argent, between 2 chevrons sable 3 ashen keys or Argent, on a chevron voided sable 3 ashen keys vert. Depicted also in Burlescombe parish church on 2 Ayshford mural monuments, tinctures faded/tarnished.
