Description: A Bank of America branch located at 722 H Street, N.E., in the Near Northeast neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Built in 1912 by the Melton Construction Company (on land previously occupied by the residences of Daniel Olin Leech, a physician, and Lena Beuchert), the neoclassical bank was designed by prominent, local architect Appleton P. Clark. The building originally served as the North Branch of Home Savings Bank, which merged with the American Security and Trust Company in 1918. A 1935 addition to the building, which nearly doubled its size, was also designed by Clark.
