Description: This amazing photograph of Banks Peninsula was used for a School Journal Publication, and comes from a series of Publication folders (photographer unknown). The visible bays are (from right to left): Lyttelton Harbour (featuring Quail Island), the entrances to Port Levy and Pigeon Bay, Whitehead Bay, part of Scrubby Bay and Menzies Bay, Squaliy Bay, Decantor Bay and Little Akaloa (the two Bays in the centre of the picture), Raupo Bay, Stony Beach, and part of Okains Bay (far left). Part of Akaroa Harbour can also be seen. In the background is Kaitorete Spit, Te Waihora (Lake Ellesmere), and the Canterbury Plains.
