Description: The Banning House (of Phineas Banning) on Fort Moore Hill, site of the old Fort Moore. The structure was built by Jacob Philippi as a beer hall, but Banning purchased and transformed it into a home. Part of the trenches of old Fort Moore, built in 1846-1847, are visible in the upper left.
