Description: Bawdsey Manor and the mouth of the River Deben aerial. It doesn't look like it .... but Bawdsey Manor was an RAF base from 1936 until 1990. In February 1936 research scientists, including Robert Watson-Watt moved into the Manor to research and develop the use of radar for military use.
