Description: Beehives, On the Farm Track to Ankness. I first noticed hundreds of bees around a puddle on the track. They would have been collecting water droplets to take back to the hive so as to cool it when the water evaporated. Bee hives are taken up on the high moors during August and September to take advantage of the heather which flowers at this time.
