Description: Beryl (Var.: Aquamarine), Schorl, Feldspar Locality: Erongo Mountain, Usakos and Omaruru Districts, Erongo Region, Namibia (Locality at mindat.org) Size: 7.3 x 7.2 x 5.4 cm. From the new find of August 2009. Perched aesthetically on crystallized, white feldspar is a dramatic, upright 4.0 cm aquamarine. It is of the highest quality: glassy luster, gemmy terminations and a rich blue color. However, the termination has a large chip, shallow (a few mm at most) but visible, on half of the basal plane of the termination. Nestled in a vug are three slender, gemmy aquamarines that are doubly terminated, as an accent elsewhere on the piece.
