Description: Grave of actor/singer Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California (grotto, lot 119, grave 1). Crosby was born May 3, 1903 in Tacoma, Washington. From from 1934 to 1954 he was a leader in record sales, radio ratings, and motion picture grosses, becoming one of the best-selling recording artists of the 20th century. He won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the 1944 film Going My Way, received the first Grammy Global Achievement Award in 1963, and has three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He died of a heart attack on October 14, 1977 in Madrid, Spain at age 74. He is buried next to his first wife, Wilma Crosby (née Wyatt), a singer and showgirl known professionally as Dixie Lee, who died of ovarian cancer in 1952 (Crosby remarried in 1957, to actress Kathryn Grant).
