Description: This drawing shows the city of St. Peter as it appeared in 1870. It provides the only known images of some of the structures that are featured, one of which is the First Lutheran Church, which is listed as the Swedish Church on the drawing. Also shown is the bridge over the Minnesota River at Broadway, which could be turned to allow the passage of riverboats.
