Description: Blanford's Fox (Vulpes cana) photographed in southern Israel. The Blanford's Fox is a small fox with a long, bushey tail. The long tail is probably an important counter balance during climbing. It occurs in Israel in the mountainous ranges of the Negev and Judean Deserts, where it inhabits steep rockey slopes. Blanford's Foxes are almost always solitary. They feed mostly on beetles, grasshoppers, ants and termites.
