Description: The flagship store of The Bon Marché department store chain, in Seattle, when still operating under that name. This photo is looking east on Pine Street towards the Third Avenue corner, with a King County Metro trolley bus in the foreground. The store was rebranded as Bon-Macy's in 2003 and became simply Macy's in 2005, the longstanding Bon name discontinued entirely, and it remains in operation as a Macy's department store. The building was officially designated a "landmark" of the city of Seattle by the city council in 1989 (ordinance number 114772) and was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 2016.
