Description: Bourdaloue chamber pots belonging to the former Austrian Imperial Household, Hofburg, Vienna. The Bourdaloue name is said to come from the name of a famous French Catholic priest whose sermons were so long that females of the aristocracy attending them had their maid bring in such pots discreetly under their gown so that they could urinate without leaving attendance.
