Description: A photo of Bulguksa taken in 1914 during the Japanese occupation period of Korea. The temple underwent a 1924 restoration by the Government General of Korea. However, the record of the restoration does not remain at all, and the sarira that had preserved inside of the Dabotap pagoda disappeared after the restoration by the Japanese. The current status of Bulguksa is a result of a restoration by the South Korean government during 1970 to 1973. (source from Doosan Encyclopedia
