Description: Cabinet pudding, made from Mrs Beeton's recipe in Everyday Cookery (1963). This recipe contains finger sponges, ratafia biscuits, glace cherries and angelica, and egg custard flavoured with vanilla. Note: there are some wonderful variations on the internet, but this one is made exactly as per the Mrs Beeton 1963 recipe book. The plate is an early piece by John James. probably 1970s.
