Description: Canal Stockalper (on the left) as seen between Vouvry and Les Evouettes (Valais / Switzerland). It was dug between 1651 and 1659 to transport salt from Collombey to the Bouveret (on the shores of Lake Geneva). It is named after Kaspar Jodok von Stockalper, a rich swiss merchant of the 17th century.
