Description: Castles of Munster: Dromaneen, Cork This is just part of a complex of buildings erected on a cliff overlooking the River Blackwater in the early 17c by Caher O'Callaghan. Due to a bull in the field, I was unable to get closer, but apparently this is the fortified house marked on the OS map. Another block apparently of three storeys, lies hidden in the trees.
