Description: Cercarial dermatitis ("swimmer's itch") on a human shank and ankle, four days after infestation. The bloodshot, puriginous skin vesicles (diameter ~5 mm) are caused by a — in this case harmless — infection with parasitic larvae (cercaria) of distinct Trematode species (probably Trichobilharzia ocellata / Trichobilharzia sp.). The most itching period is between the 2nd and 4th day after infection.
