Description: The Charles Evans Hughes House — present day residence of the Ambassador Burma (Myanmar) , located at 2223 R Street, NW, in the Sheridan-Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, D.C.. A contributing property to the Sheridan-Kalorama Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Washington, D.C., and a National Historic Landmark. Designed by George Oakley Totten, Jr. in 1907, the Mediterranean Revival style building originally served as the residence of Jacob Van Vechten Olcott. From 1930 until 1948, it was the residence of Charles Evans Hughes.
