Description: Photograph in From Afong, Photographer. Albumen photograph of an Arch Gate in Quanzhou (formerly Chin-Chew), erected by a Chinese Emperor to honour Chinese Admiral Shi Lang. The Arch is above a commercial street, with a nearby shop sign reading "Jie-Sheng's bowyer and fletcher shop". The gate was later destroyed in the early 1920s by Han Chinese nationalists[1][2].
