Description: City View Hotel on Brisbane Rd, West Ipswich. This site was a difficult triangular one adjoining a deep railway cutting excavated in 1875. Architect George Brockwell Gill produced a skillful solution to the problem, locating an octagonal two-storey "tower" to disguise the sharp corner of the building, while the front appears as a traditional two-storey verandah hotel.
