Description: Cleveland Hall, also known as Bryant Arts Center, was built in 1904 as a men’s gymnasium. Originally the building housed an auditorium named Sherwin Hall, Swasey gymnasium, meeting rooms, a library, and a swimming pool. The building was named to honor the generosity of trustees from the City of Cleveland, and built by Richards, McCarty and Bulford of Columbus. Now, the building houses the Art Department and provides studio space for painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, photography and a small foundry for metal fabrication.
