Description: This photograph was taken on Labor Day, 2 September, 1907. It shows the Trinidad, Colorado baseball team (left), the Denver All Stars baseball team (right), local dignitaries standing in center, and the fans prior to the final game of a three-game series played between the teams in Trinidad, Colorado. The Denver All Star pitcher for the second game of the series played the morning of 2 September was Sven Guy Burkland from Chicago. He is the 11th person standing to the left of the policeman on the right. "The crowd was a tremendous one and Newman got its picture." ("All Stars Defeated in Three Games By Hard Hitting Trinidads" The Chronicle-News, 3 September 1907, p. 1.) Believe photographer to be Almeron Newman who was not listed in Trinidad City Directory in 1907 but was listed in 1908 and later years.
