Description: A lot of our cool little traditional kiwi bakeries are run by immigrants, particularly from Cambodia. They differ from the fancier French and Italian bakeries in that they aren't that fancy. It's just good ol' comfort food. I mean...custard in a pie shell...what could be more satisfying? We used to live next to this place that has the best custard tarts ever. It's still only a 10 minute walk from our current place so it seemed like the right thing to do on a Saturday afternoon.
