Description: The arms were granted on October 15, 1971. The eagle is taken from the arms of the Counts of Are and the former city of Ahrweiler. The lion is the lion of the Duchy of Jülich and is taken from the arms of Bad Neuenahr. The crown is a symbol for the Estate of Landskron, to which a part of the city historically belonged.
