Description: The arms were granted on August 27, 1973. The upper part of the arms is derived from the arms of the former Bitburg district; they show the cross of the Electorate of Trier and the tower of Bitburg city. The Paschal Lamb, or Agnus Dei, is derived from the former Prüm district arms. The fourth quarter is derived from the arms of Luxembourg, as the southern part of the district historically belonged to the County (later Duchy) of Luxembourg for many years.
