Description: The arms were granted on April 20, 1936 and show in the upper half the cross of Cologne, to which the area historically belonged until 1802 as an exclave. The lower right part shows a barrel iron, derived from the arms of the Lords of Loe, who owned a castle in the town. The lower left part shows hammer and pick as symbols for the former importance of mining in the city.
