Description: A Daimler Motor-Lastwagen (motor truck) of 1898 in the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. This was originally delivered to England by DMG (Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft, "Daimler Motors Corporation"). Its mid-mounted engine is a two-cylinder Phönix ("Phoenix") engine of 1,527 cc (93.2 cu in) displacement with a power rating of 5.6 PS (5.5 hp; 4.1 kW). At an engine speed of 720 rpm, the truck reaches a top speed of 12 km/h (7.5 mph). It can carry a payload of 1,250 kg (2,750 lb) and weighs 2.5 tonnes (5,500 lb). The drive takes place via a four-stage belt transmission to the rear wheels. Later trucks were built with a front engine and prop shaft. (This image is a composite of two separate photos.)
