Description: This was a historical moment sketched by a Canadian artist and digger, Charles Doudiet. The burning of Bentley's hotel was a pivotal moment in the Eureka Rebellion prior to the Eureka Stockade which raised tensions between the miners and the government. It was a really good way of showing people that the Eureka Rebellion was more than just the Eureka Stocade. This picture was taken from the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery Collection.
