Description: Dwarfie Stane, Hoy. This Neolithic rock-cut tomb is unique in Great Britain (there is a similar one at Gwendalough, Co, Wicklow). The stone is 8.5m long and 4.3m wide, and a passage 2.3m long has been cut into it to two cells. The square block in front of the stone was apparently intended for sealing the entrance. This photo was taken in 1974.
