Description: With Ellen Street station in the background, a broad gauge train is in the centre of Ellen Street, Port Pirie and is being loaded for its journey to Adelaide. Prominent is the 12-wheeled 'Long Tom' brake van. In front of it are at least five passenger cars: visible are three steel cars normally used on these trains and two clerestory-roofed wooden cars (Victorian / South Australian Railways joint stock?). Parcels and boxes for the train are on the backs of two trucks beside the brakevan.
